Please read these terms carefully before using the OCDSA member portal and services.

Welcome to the Oakland County Deputy Sheriff's Association (OCDSA) online services. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website, member portal, shift bidding system, and all related services. By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the OCDSA Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.

These Terms apply to all members of the Oakland County Deputy Sheriff's Association, including active deputies, retired members, and authorized representatives.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify members of any material changes via email or through the member portal.

2Member Accounts

Account Registration

To access certain features, you must register using your official badge number and department-issued email address. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify OCDSA immediately of any unauthorized use.

Account Eligibility

Accounts are available only to current OCDSA members in good standing. Membership status is verified through our records and OCSO HR.

3Use of Services

Permitted Use

  • Access union information and resources
  • Participate in the shift bidding process
  • View and manage personal employment information
  • Communicate with union representatives
  • Submit grievances and requests for representation

Prohibited Use

  • Violate any local, state, or federal law
  • Harass, intimidate, or harm other members
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or malicious code
  • Share confidential union or member information

4Shift Bidding System

Bidding Rules

The shift bidding system operates according to the collective bargaining agreement. All bids are processed based on seniority and qualification requirements.

Bid Submission

Members are responsible for submitting accurate and timely bids during designated periods. Late submissions may not be accepted.

Bid Finality

Once a bidding period closes and assignments are processed, results are final except as provided in the collective bargaining agreement.

5Code of Conduct

All users must maintain professional conduct consistent with law enforcement standards:

  • Treat all members and staff with respect and dignity
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Use Services only for legitimate union purposes
  • Report any security concerns or violations promptly
  • Cooperate with union investigations when requested

Violations may result in suspension or termination of access and potential disciplinary action.

6Privacy & Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using our Services, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

7Disclaimers & Limitations

Service Availability

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OCDSA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services.

Legal Advice

Information provided through the Services does not constitute legal advice. Contact the union directly for legal representation.

8Termination

Access to Services may be terminated:

  • Upon termination of OCDSA membership
  • For violation of these Terms or union bylaws
  • For conduct detrimental to the union or its members
  • Upon retirement or separation from OCSO
  • By mutual agreement

Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease.

9Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan.

Any disputes shall be resolved through the grievance procedures outlined in the OCDSA bylaws and collective bargaining agreement.
