Okay, I will try to keep this topic up to date with the questions I get the most. All users please read this before submitting questions to me so my inbox isn't so flooded.
I forgot my password for the ninth time! What do I do? Sooner or later, you're going to have to figure out how to avoid forgetting that thing, because I'm not going to keep resetting your password for you all the time. After like the tenth time, you're on your own, so stop being so irresponsible.
I want to join up. What do I do? Well, to make it as simple as possible, please read the REGISTRATION RULES, then click the Register link at the top of this page. NOTE: If you don't read the rules and register improperly, or with required information missing, please do not get upset when your account is deleted. The steps are straightforward, so please follow them.
I registered for an account and still can't log in! It's been days/weeks/months! What is going on?? You are required to send an email to me after registering, and the email must contain your full name, registered username, rank and work location so I may verify that you are an OCDSA member. If you didn't do that, your account is inactive. If your account has been inactive for a long time, it might have even been deleted.
How come this is the only part I can read? All the other categories tell me to log in! I have made the Discussion Groups secure, in that only our registered members may participate in the discussions. If you would like to join the discussion groups and you are a member of the OCDSA, click the "register" link at the top of this page. All accounts must be approved by the Admins, so once you have created the account, you must send an email to the Admin with your full name, username, rank, and work location so that he may verify that you are an OCDSA member.
How do I get something posted to the main site? I have made the Discussion Groups specifically for the purpose of inter member communication, but if you feel there is something that merits posting to the Main Site, submit it to me at tuckerj@ocdsa.com. I will review the submission with the Executive Board, and upon approval I will post it to the site.
Why is the forum not Netscape compatible? Well, what I really mean to say is that it's not so good with older versions of Netscape. Sometimes the colors and table placements get messed up. There is nothing I can do about that. To solve the problem, either update your Netscape browser to the most recent version, or use Internet Explorer or Mozilla. (I would recommend Mozilla, by the way; it's much more secure and stable then IE or Netscape, it's totally customizable, and it's FREE!)
I can't open the PDF files you have on here! All I get is a red X. Okay, I get this alot from county computers. If you can't open a PDF by clicking on it, try right-clicking it instead, and selecting "Save Target As..." Now pick a spot on your hard drive to save it. Once you have done that, go into your hard drive, to the spot you saved the PDF, and double click it to open it. This should work for you.
More questions will be added to the top of the list as I get them.[/b] _________________ “[Compassion Fatigue] results from the taxing nature of showing compassion for someone whose suffering is continuous and unresolvable. One may still care for the person as required by policy, however, the natural human desire to help them is significantly diminished." ~Wikipedia definition of Compassion Fatigue
